Babysitter receives calls from sleeping child's phone inside the house
A babysitter named Priya received phone calls from a sleeping boy's phone while it sat charging on his nightstand, with no calls in its history.
The sleeping boy was upstairs when his phone called Priya from inside the house. Priya was babysitting at a house beside the interstate. The parents left her the usual list.
Dinner was in the fridge, bedtime was at eight, and she should call if the boy needed anything. A little after eight, the phone rang downstairs. It was the boy's number.
The first call
Priya answered. His voice whispered, can you bring me water? Priya went upstairs and found the boy asleep on his side, both hands under the pillow.
His phone was on the nightstand, charging. There was no call in its history. Then the phone rang again while Priya stood beside him.
The warning
This time, the voice said, don't come up. Priya ran downstairs and called the parents. Their car was still 20 minutes away.
Then the landline rang. Caller ID showed the house number. Priya picked up.
A man breathed once and said, he's awake now. The man opened the front door behind her. Priya grabbed the boy and ran outside.
The evidence
The parents arrived seconds later, confused and angry, until Priya showed them the call log. Every call had come from the boy's phone, and the last call was placed after Priya carried him outside.
