Yuki encounters a mirror that speaks first
A security check at a storage facility turns strange when Yuki finds her reflection moving half a second late and appearing in places she isn't.
After the lights stopped, the reflection in Unit 38 kept blinking. Yuki was checking the storage facility after hours, when the motion sensors began failing, one corridor at a time.
The half second delay
In the office window, Yuki raised her hand. Her reflection followed half a second later. She lowered it. The reflection copied that move late too.
Then Faye called from the loading bay. A unit door had rolled open by itself, and someone was walking between the rows.
The wrong place
Yuki checked the security monitors. Every camera showed empty corridors except the one facing Unit 38. On that screen, her reflection stood inside the unit.
Yuki unlocked the door. The storage space held a cracked wardrobe, a child's chair, and a mirror angled toward the entrance. She stepped aside. Her reflection stayed visible in the mirror.
The reflection speaks
Faye reached the doorway and shouted that Yuki was standing behind her. Yuki turned. The corridor was empty.
In the mirror, Faye walked into the unit, while her voice still came from the loading bay. The reflection opened its mouth and spoke first.
Yuki, lock the door before I come out.
The mirror showed Yuki turning the key from the wrong side.
