Toll booth worker discovers cursed video that passes phantom to viewers
A toll booth attendant filming an empty hearse discovers his phone adds frames showing a figure behind him, then learns the curse transfers to anyone who watches.
Otis worked the night shift alone at a toll booth where County Road 8 crossed the marsh. At 2:36, he noticed something strange. A hearse had stopped beyond the barrier with no driver, no plates, and its headlights turned off.
He filmed the empty highway for six seconds to show his supervisor, then pressed stop. When he played the footage back, it ran for seven seconds instead. In the added frame, the hearse had moved beside the booth. Someone sat behind Otis in the video, wearing his jacket.
The figure appears again
Otis looked outside. The road was empty. Then another frame appeared in the video. The figure had turned toward him.
He video called Denny, the morning shift collector. Denny answered dressed for work. The same figure stood behind him in the call. Otis warned Denny and deleted the clip without playing it again.
The curse transfers
At sunrise, Otis left his phone beneath the barrier and walked home. Denny found the phone still recording. Its final frame showed Otis leaving the marsh safely.
In the booth window behind him, Denny was already working the night shift. That was when Otis understood what the extra footage had done. It passed the passenger to whoever watched.
