Bedroom wall reveals photos from tomorrow
Two neighbors discover photographs hidden in their shared wall, each one dated years apart. The newest image shows a date that hasn't happened yet.
Sigrid's bedroom wall clicked every night. She blamed the pipes until her new neighbor, Ingrid, heard it from her side at exactly 2:14.
They pulled out matching picture hooks. Behind them were narrow openings drilled through the shared wall. Each one held a rolled photograph taken 30 years apart.
Photographs spanning decades
The first showed Sigrid's bedroom in 1994. An unfamiliar family sat on her bed. A tall stranger stood behind them with his face turned toward the wall.
The second was dated 2009. The tenants had changed. The stranger was still there.
In the newest photograph, Sigrid lay asleep beneath her green blanket. This time, the stranger stood beside her, facing the camera. Ingrid said the picture had to be recent.
Sigrid pointed to the date printed underneath. It said tomorrow.
Something inside the wall
They crossed into Ingrid's bedroom. The wallpaper between the beds was bulging. Something inside the wall shifted upright. Three careful clicks came through.
A fresh photograph slid from the opening. It showed Ingrid alone holding that same picture. Behind her, Sigrid was pressed flat inside the wall.
And the stranger was asleep beneath Sigrid's green blanket.
