Petra's radio predicts her house vanishing
In 2021, a house-sitter named Petra stood in a cul-de-sac listening to a radio that forecast impossible events, including the disappearance of the home she was watching.
The rain was coming from Petra's radio. In 2021, she stood in the center of a cul-de-sac while house-sitting at number 12. The old receiver played a station that no longer existed.
At 9.40, it read out tomorrow's forecast, clear skies and scattered ash. It called for 20 degrees.
The warning broadcast
The announcer added, residents should remain indoors after the final porch light goes out. Every porch light around the circle went dark, except hers. Yuki arrived with an umbrella.
Rain hit it, but only above the house. At the property line, the drops stopped. The radio started listing tomorrow's damage.
Number eight would lose its roof. Number three would flood. The house at number 12 would burn.
The forecast continues
The time was 2.16. Petra unplugged the receiver.
The forecast continued through the kitchen vents. At 2.15, flames showed in the windows.
There was no fire outside. The radio whispered, one minute. Petra dragged it into the street.
The house disappears
The rain followed, pouring from its speaker. At 2.16, the house vanished.
By morning, the cul-de-sac was dry. Yuki found Petra's radio on the pavement, still forecasting tomorrow. This time, it said Yuki's name.
